I stayed out long enough to count just 25 and several nice ones.
As usual only a couple of them went across the sky in the part of space where you *see* the Perseid constellation.
The best ones were about 45 degrees away in the western sky going east to west.
As usual something gets named after something that actually has nothing to do with it
Anyway.......why would a guy be in his house on a sunny day setting up another computer and d/ling programs and installing new parts to add to the Ram and installing a video card and changing the PSU??

Because he doesn't like sweating out there in the 90F with 73F dew point. I even skipped the meteors because it was too humid at 3am (and probably too many mosquitoes, too).

Re: there was something else, and then I got distracted by an imdb page(MUST see that some time), and then by actual work, and then back to that page, and by the time I finished with it I forgot why I was there in the first place and OH YEAH! ROMANA! I got there by researching Romana. I'm not sure I was aware that Romana 1 died three years ago. The Honourable Romana 2 is still around, but not acting; she illustrates her husband's science books and does other art and writing.

Re: Win 10, I heard something about it having a built-in key logger.
This was part of Win10's Technical Preview which users were told about during installation and which they most likely agreed to. My understanding is it will not be part of the "free" distro. Hope they took it out.
Just my laptop but I just finished the Windows 10 GeForce driver d/l - install
did it give you any choice in he matter? I see what look like a pause button and a stop button, but did you seem to have a choice of saying "no"?
Personally, involuntary driver installs without right of appeal is the most disturbing Windows 10 story I've heard, mostly because my Einstein work may not always want the "latest distribution" driver.

That's not Win 10 downloading the driver, that's Nvidias GeForce Experience. A program to among other things help you check for driver updates and if found download and install them for you, so that's not a mandatory update, if it was Windows doing it it would show in the Windows update GUI.
