MS have had several decades to get their licensing model established yet each time a new release comes out, it is bundled with a new layer of weirdware.

caveat emptor: after 30 days you can Kiss your win 7 ultimate licence GOODBYE as it will no longer be valid.
In other words you will NOT be able to revert back to win 7 after 30 days.
The win 7 ultimate license is transferred to the Win 10 license.

I did some research and found you are absolutely correct, but there does seem to be a work around, after 30 days Win10 deletes the "Windows.old" file, meaning no going back to Win7, 8 or whatever. BUT if you copy that "Windows.old" file to where you are keeping your backups, then you should be able to restore it, by copying it back to Win10 and go back to Win7, 8 or whatever.
I tried copying the "Windows.old" folder this morning thru my VNC program and it said I didn't have 'permission', I will try later on by physically logging onto the pc and doing it then. I can do almost anything else thru my VNC setup, so I don't know what the problem is.

I agree that for some people, and probably newbies, a Mac IS better in the long run, but they are WAAAY more expensive, can you buy a used 16 core Mac for $200 US on Ebay, not in this lifetime you can't!! Even die hard Windows users can be using a Mac in under half an hour with almost no problems once they learn the new key strokes, I did when we took only my wifes new Mac laptop on vacation one time. I am 62 years old and have been using Windows based pc's since Windows 286 came out, so a VERY long time, and used DOS before that for a while. Before that I wrote programs on a mainframe while saving them on paper tape rolls, man it was a pain to redo the whole thing when the tape broke!!
All that being said I am happy with my Windows pc's and since I often build my own, the last 2, each a dual quad core Xeon that thru HT has 16 cpu cores off lease machine, were bought thru Ebay and then made to work the way I like it by me. Normally I buy a 6 or 8 core AMD cpu/motherboard combo with 16gb of memory for under $250 US and rebuild an old dual or quad core pc.
With an RAC of nearly 1/4 million I would say that you were yes!
It goes up and down based on the other projects and the whims of the gpu's I use, some gpu's like Einstein, while others of the exact same model do not! I even had one that ran the units just fine here and then boom started throwing out error after error so it has been moved, at least for now, to MilkyWay.
